Sapang Bato National High School History
The establishment of Sapang Bato was conceptualized by the Barangay Council of meeting held on October 2, 1982 through Resolution No. 82-07. Its Clientiles come from Barangay Sapang Bato and other neighboring Barangays, Tacondo and Anunas. It started with three (3) teachers and one hundred seventy seven (177) students distributed to three sections, all first year.
Before it had been nationalized in 1988 under Republic Act, the school was funded by the student’s tuition fee, aid from the Barangay and the national government and a pledge of P20,000.00 from the Mayor’s funds.
Already in its 27 th year of service, the school proved to be a very important institution in molding the youth. At present, it has a total population of 805 coming less fortunate families who cannot afford to send their children to the city to continue their studies.
The school curriculum offering is centered on the Basic Education curriculum (BEC) which has been implemented in 2002. The school aims to provide equal educational opportunities to the youth from different walks of life and reduce disparities in terms of social transformation and in the improvement of quality of life of the people through the production of disciplined and reliable citizens equipped with moral and spiritual values.
With citation given to the school as High Performingschool in the three consecutive years, the school attributes its success to its committed and dedicated teachers, the supportive and cooperative parents, community people and the trust of the DEPEd officials.
